The result was the same -- can't remove old Protector Suite 2009 (by UPEK, Inc.), tried loading over it with Protector Suite 2011 (by Authentec) and both received pop up window 'need to enable biometric framework'.
Upek-ps-pass-decrypt UPEK Protector Suite Password Decrypter This is a little.NET 4.0 C# console application that demonstrates how to decrypt Windows logon credentials from registry keys created by UPEK (now AuthenTec)'s Protector Suite software. Run it with '-h' to see how to use it. By default it spits out all the Windows usernames, passwords, and domains it can find, but you can specify everything with verbose mode (-v).
Depending on the version of Protector Suite you have installed, you may need to run this tool as NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM. You can do this by downloading and using psexec.exe (Google for it) and bringing up a command prompt via: psexec.exe -s -i cmd.exe You can then navigate to the directory for this tool and run it. If this tool doesn't work for you and you want it to, feel free to let me know at along with a sample of your data so support can be added.
I installed Windows 8 last year and downloaded Protector Suite 2012 from Authentec's website. The software worked perfectly.

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and experienced compatibility problems with Sony software and had to downgrade to W8 again and i never did a backup. I never saved the Protector Suite 2012 software and i can no longer download it from Authentec's website as it no longer exists. I was wondering may be if anyone knows if a manufacturer provides the full version that i could download? A simple answer is i have no idea. They have removed all of their support from all the official links on the net and drivers and backup is now obsolete. I had a problem where the finger swipe from boot up dissapeared of my screen and no matter what i tried i couldnt get it to work. The software still said it was working correctly.
In the end the only way i could get the onscreen swipe logo back was to do 3 system restores. On the 3rd attempt the logo came back and i could log in with my finger again. Hopefully someone might be able to upload the software to an external host so you can download it. S.Prime, thank you for your help. My laptop never came with the 2012 protector suite software.
I did though manage to download the protector suite 2012 software today through the wayback archive website. I tried several times today and the link kept on going to a no access page. I got lucky though and it worked when i tried again.

I downloaded the 32bit and 64bit versions for my laptops. This is the link where i downloaded it from.
I also managed to download the Firefox and Chrome extensions on another website. Edited to add: I think version PSWBF5.9.7.7256 is the limited version and version pswbf2012build7279 is the full free version. I used to have version 79. I guess version 56 is better than nothing. I installed the W7 finger print sensor and protector suite software that Sony provides for my laptop and then did an upgrade to Protector Suite 2012 version 7256 and it now appears to function as a full version.
There should be no differences now between both versions. I did though somehow manage to download the full version for 32bit. I installed Windows 8 last year and downloaded Protector Suite 2012 from Authentec's website.

Hi all, I stumbled upon the same issue: where can I download the last version of Protector Suite. On you can find the Authentec/Upek software & drivers. I have the original 2011 version of the program and to be certain I did a hash comparison between my purchased version and the download on touslesdrivers for Vista 64-bit, and they were the same.
Therefore I think the downloads on this site van be trusted. The site is in French, but even without any knowledge of French you can still find the right driver/software. If not, you can always use a translation machine. Hope this helps.
